Menopause

There are many options for a woman who is experiencing perimenopausal symptoms. The middle years are a wonderful time of life, and you should be feeling great, not just trying to endure and "hang on". We can help you with problems such as:

  • Hot Flashes
  • Night Sweats
  • Poor Sexual Interest (Low Libido)
  • Weight Gain
  • Fatigue
  • Mood Swings, Anxiety, and Depression
  • Changes in Skin Quality
  • All Abnormalities of Bleeding
  • PMS

We will take a comprehensive history and perform a careful physical examination. Treatments may include hormone therapy, or other medical therapies or treatments.

Hormone replacement therapy may include oral medications, patches, vaginal rings, creams, injections, or subcutaneous pellet therapy - whichever is right for you.

When childbearing is no longer a consideration, some women may be candidates for Endometrial Ablation, which is the removal of the hormonally active lining of the uterus (womb). This procedure is an extremely effective way of treating a wide range of complaints, including bothersome periods and PMS symptoms (fluid retention, abdominal bloating, premenstrual headaches, and irritable/anxious feelings.)

Endometrial Ablation is also an alternative to hysterectomy for most patients. Many women whose symptoms may not warrant invasive surgical treatment (hysterectomy) will often be candidates for Endometrial Ablation. They can get back to their routine activities immediately, and be freed from troublesome periods and PMS.

Endometrial Ablation is covered by most health insurance, including BCBS, United Healthcare, Humana, Cigna, and others.
